Business Card etiquette

learn No Comments

At HD Design & Printing, we pride ourselves in exemplary business card printing. We all know there’s cheap printing out there…. do you want to hand out your business cards the same way party promoters hand out pluggers?? Probably not.

Our customers take pride in presenting themselves and their businesses. Quality business cards are part of this presentation.

The incident below may help to emphasize the point….

In a recent business meeting with a small IT consulting company, a marketing director slid me a stack of his cheaply printed cards. The assumption here was that I would be passing his cards out and pumping in some referrals – thereby gaining some dollar percentage of any new potential customers.

This struck me as poor taste in a few ways. First of all, the cards were mediocre quality at best – visible line screen, cheap paper and stale design. Secondly, I believe it is good taste to feel out a relationship before jumping in with a pitch or hook. In other words – sell me on the concept before you drop it in my lap.

Times are tough people! Don’t undermine your business with a cheap pitch or poorly put together marketing material.
