Auto shut down?
With all the political activity lately, people have forgotten that the big auto makers are shut down. This is not something we should be overlooking. These are the largest factories in the country. Is this business model coming to an end?
100 years ago Henry Ford began to ramp up his immense production facilities. Eventually, he constructed the Rouge assembly plant which gave him control over the entire process of auto manufacturing. This included a foundry and lumber mill.
It seems that we need to look towards the other end of the capital spectrum – our trash and by-products – as an area of new opportunity. Our capitalist system is out of balance.
