2400 dpi since Y2K!

Uncategorized No Comments

What does HD mean? What does it really mean?
We have seen HD everywhere.

The current gold standard of HD television is 1080p.
We have been 2400dpi since Y2K!

Our printing process has been high definition long before HD was tagged on to television broadcasts. We are traditional offset printers in all regards, but when it comes to imaging our printing plates, “hidef” is the way we go.

When supplying art to a printer, designers know to embed images at 300dpi. On our end, print imaging resolution increased by a factor of 8. Offset printing utilizes screens which are essentially small dots (different from imaging resolution)  Every plate that goes on our press must be imaged at 2400dpi with our high end line screen of 175. This leaves little room for error but pays back big in terms of quality. Ask us about our process – we are happy to let you know how we work and bring “hidef” to your project.

Also, keep in mind that resolution is not everything. We are well know for printing difficult pantone solids which are highly popular.
